The engine purrs along as the expanse of two sides of frozen lake pass the window sides of the car. Over the sand bar and into South Hero we come for a tasting at Snow Farm Vineyard. Coming around the corner by Crescent Bay Bed and Breakfast the full view of the vineyard opens up. Out stretch acres of vines and the tasting room down the road. The frozen snow squeaks and crunches under our boots as we step out of the car and walk through the parking lot. It’s quiet and peaceful with the afternoon sun gleaming on the big windows, on the outside wall of the old winery. The door is large and heavy but swings open easily to the tasting room. A room where many people have come to gather throughout the years and where many memories have been made. The shelves are full of local goodies and trinkets. Homemade lights shine above the bar. Maple syrup made by the Lanes is bountifully displayed on the shelf. Llama fiber and hand knit scarfs are laid out along antique furniture as if a work of art all on it’s own. Just when you think time has stopped and you catch your self lost in the wonder, a pleasant welcoming voice from behind the bar speaks out saying, “welcome to Snow Farm Vineyard would you like to try some wine?”
