Our Vineyard is at the foot of the Sugarbush. Or the Sugarbush is above the Vineyard. Both the maple trees and the vines co-exist in the same eco-system on the West Shore of South Hero. Deer live in the forest and grassy meadows. Fox trot past happily looking for field mice. Killdeer squawk as they fly by protecting their nest tucked into the vines. Crickets and cicadas hum their songs throughout the summer days. Followed in the evenings by peepers, bull frogs and owls. Birds are up in tree tops just looking to see the sights.
